I have pondered this and wondered if it is largely because our young men and women go into the service with different mental and emotional skill sets. The Greatest Generation, as my parents were dubbed, grew up with dearth, learning to cope with what they didn’t have, in the Depression years, then, just as they hit adulthood -boom - war. They had to set their dreams aside for four years. When the war was over, they were chomping at the bit to get on with their lives. They came home, got jobs, got married, gave birth to the Boomer generation. Mindset plays a huge role in how we cope with what is put on our plate.meemahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09104303592278897991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9044571629293488418.post-65003170242623357382018-11-11T19:11:32.512-05:002018-11-11T19:11:32.512-05:00As usual, I appreciate your insight here.

Today as I was taking youngest son to school for his 4th performance of this interminable musical production he's in, Billy Joel was singing a song about Saigon on the radio, and I struggled to follow the lyrics because there's so much emotion wrapped up in that war. It does seem with each successive war we get involved in, the men and women come home more damaged and bitter.<br />Michele Morinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03814119096056835884noreply@blogger.com
